Tokyo Revengers - A Simple Yet Powerful Revenge Story

You might have already seen many revenge stories portrayed through animes. However, Tokyo Revengers as an anime, does its job by placing the entire story on the basis of revenge. Tokyo Revengers is a Shonen anime, which is expected to be released this year in April. Created by LIDENFILMS Studios, the story revolves around a young boy named Takemichi Hanagaki, whose friend Hinata gets killed by the vicious criminals of the Tokyo Manji Gang. 

The protagonist finds himself travelling through time 12 years before, where Hinata is alive, and thus vows to take a stand and eliminate the Manji Gang by infiltrating their gang by rising up in their hierarchy. The entire story is a kind of revenge story, and hence the name reflects that as well. Is saving Hinata the only reason behind this revenge, or is it something else in Hanagaki's mind?

The Official release date of Tokyo Revengers is 11th April, 2021. The anime belongs to the genre of Action, Drama, School and Shounen. The anime is produced by Lidenfilms Studios, which was also responsible for producing New Initial D the movie -  Legend 1 : Awakening & Cardfight!! Vanguard : The Movie in 2014

Tokyo Revengers is consistently showing increasing trend worldwide, as per the dashboard report generated by Google Trends. On the worldwide Scale, the trend is currently at 73, with the highest searches being made from France, followed by Vietnam & Phillipines. The art style and animation of this anime is fairly good. Character designs are better than average.

An adaptation from Manga?

It is quite an interesting fact that Tokyo Revengers already has a manga for itself. The manga has also won the 44th Kodansha Manga Award for best shounen in 2020. The manga has a very good rating of 8.75 on Mangadex. A whopping 21 Volumes, and the first volume of the manga comprises of 5 Chapters altogether. 

Other animes like Tokyo Revengers

Since the point of the story is primarily revenge, there are a lot of shows that perfectly align with this category of interest, from which the top ones are Attack On Titan, Code Geass & Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. However the biggest question is - Should you watch this anime?

Well, I will share the reasons why you should watch it. If you are a shonen lover who likes to watch fast paced animes, involving a lot of fight scenes and action packed experience, you should definitely try out Tokyo Revengers.

If you are looking for something softer, less painful to watch (Something Like Slice of Life) then it would be better to just stay away from this anime. This anime is going to be really faced paced, as we can see the manga has so many volumes and chapters, and to cover the entire story is somewhat challenging as well. However, deep down I do feel that this anime will have some soft touch to it.
