Burning Kabaddi - Anime Based on Indian Sports?

It is interesting to see how so many animes based upon sports have been countlessly kept releasing since the past few decades. One of those animes is the new upcoming Burning Kabaddi Anime or 'Shakunetsu Kabaddi' (As in Japanese). This anime is based upon the prestigious sport 'Kabaddi', which has originated from India, Tamil Nadu. It will be interesting to see how the animators and artists will be able to provide life to characters playing this game. Animation is going to be a really tough job for the team as Kabaddi is not an easy game to visualize or write about. The creation of this anime will require a solid grasp of Kabaddi, players behaviour, tactics and fine-details of the game. Produced by TMS Entertainment Studios, many anime fans are eagerly awaiting for this release, especially those residing in India, as they get to see something new that represents their Mother Nation.

Burning Kabaddi (Shakunetsu Kabaddi) is expected to release in 02 April 2021 on TV Tokyo.

Trailer Analysis

From the look of this trailer, we can surely say that there is going to be a lot of focus on gameplay aspects of Kabaddi. We don't see any supernatural cues regarding the gameplay. This anime is majorly going to focus on the real-life tactics of the game.

Can it beat Haikyuu and other legendary sports anime?

If we closely look at this trailer, we can be sure that we are not going to get a clear understanding about the depth and the story, however we do know that Kabaddi is a very advanced type of sport, and there are a lot of fans for it throughout the world. So if an anime gets released focusing on this game, then we can be pretty sure that many fans will get gravitated towards it. At this point, we can't debate about this any further.

Other Sports Animes like Burning Kabaddi

If you are highly interested in watching sports animes, you can also watch Haikyuu, Yuri On Ice, Ping Pong the Animation and Free. Other than these, Run with the Wind is also a great sports anime, although it does not generally fall into the sports genre as mostly it is aligned much more with the slice of life, but still it is worth watching.

Why should you watch this anime?

This anime is seriously packed with a lot of animation and gameplay techniques. If you are a type of person who enjoys a good fight and the process, this anime is worth watching. Although there is not much fighting involved, the concept of beating the opponents itself is a fight in its own way.

Now let us look at the other side of the coin. I would highly recommend not to waste your time watching this anime if you are not at all interested into sports or sports anime whatsoever. Also, please don't watch it if you are new to sports anime, you can either start by some better ones like I mentioned above to get the grasp and feel.

Let us hope that Burning Kabaddi shoots through our expectations.
